Many of you would already know, I am an advocate for developing a camel industry to supply meat, leather, milk and other products rather than a culling programe which greatly hinders the development of the camel industry.
I have found an article which is a little bit dated but the facts mentioned within still remain the same.
As I prepare for the development of the Perth to Sydney Thank You Camel Expedition 2013, in support of Moira Kelly's Children First Foundation, this blog site will hopefully correctly inform the public of further issues and events which relate to Australian Camels.
There is a lot of media demonising the camel in Australia and many of the claims made by some very powerful lobby groups are simply not true or they are talking in half truths.
"A coin always has two sides."
At present, I am preparing a speech on this very topic including some wider topical issues related to the Feral Camels in Australia.
With some of the research material I have recently uncovered, the arguments for developing a camel industry in Australia are becoming stronger and irrefutable.
The two big questions that need to be asked are: "What will the world be like in fifty years time?' and "How will we be able to justify camel culling in 2010-2020 to future generations of world citizens in need of a source of protein when the world is already protein deprived?'
